K-12 Education

The period from kindergarten through high school is the longest, most important time period of your education. This block of grade levels can break up in to many different sections: elementary (K-6), middle school (7-8), and high school (9-12). There are many different ways to split the levels up; these are just what have traditionally been used. There have recently been many schools that have added more divisions to keep similarly aged (and similar maturity levels) together.

Teachers who teach in these age groups typically need a specific certification to teach a different group of grade levels. It’s important for these teachers to know the age group that they want to teach and understand the difficulties and development processes that occur during that age range. It’s also very important for these teachers to try to get the parents involved in the students’ education in many different ways.
